Australian Wholesalers Website

The Australian Wholesalers website has evolved over many years as a result of having spent countless hours and days during our retail business days searching the internet for general and specific products. I realised that I constantly had to add new products and ideas to our stock to keep our customers interested and coming back, and whilst trade fairs offer an excellent source of suppliers not all wholesalers and suppliers are represented. I also wanted my retail store to offer something different and this meant finding the smaller Australian wholesale businesses.

Hence the concept for the Australian Wholesalers website and directory was born and I began to research wholesalers and suppliers in Australia. With an extensive list of literally thousands of wholesalers it was time to go online.

I started with a domain name that evolved from our business name; Global Retail and Trade, and while the content was excellent and comprehensive it quickly became obvious that the domain name was inappropriate and the project was temporarily shelved due to lack of traffic and the availability of a suitable domain name.

In January 2009 I was able to purchase the domain name www.AustralianWholesalers.com.au and I quickly realised it was the most appropriate and descriptive domain name for this project. On the 11th May 2009 I went to live website testing and immediately the website began receiving direct requests for the website name, i.e. people were typing in our domain name www.AustralianWholesalers.com.au into the URL bar.
